Incorruptible Corpses

An incorruptible corpse is a body that does not decay after death. The Catholic church does recognize some but not all incorrupt corpses as worthy of sainthood. In order to comply with Catholic docterine rules the corpse must remain flexible (never stiffen) as if the person was asleep. It cannot have undergone any form of preservation (imbalming or the like). It must remain in it’s natural state. It is quite common for incorruptible corpses to exude a sweet aroma, referred to as the odour of Sancity. Incorruptible corpses can remain in this state for hundreds of years
